Arlene Westphal is a Faculty Associate in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. She has over 20 years as a K-20 professional educator and instructional designer. She earned an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Arizona State University in 2007, complementary to her Bachelor's degree in Educational Media from Florida Atlantic University. Arlene specialized in distance learning and began teaching online courses for ASU from 2005-2007, and 2013-present. Since 1997 Arlene was an early adopter of providing web-based instruction, while serving as a teacher/librarian in Gilbert Public Schools (in Arizona) and the Arizona Department of Education K-12 Literacy Unit, designing for online conversion and training state specialists to teach online. She continued her pursuit of distance learning with adult learners (students & faculty) by providing online training for distance education faculty at a private law school from 2010-2013, and as an instructional designer for ASU Fulton Schools of Engineering and College of Health Solutions.
